We accept most major employer based insurances such as BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Humana and Regular Medicare. Coverage depends on your specific policy and if your employer offers bariatric benefits. We are in network / affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Hospital and HCA (Medial City). Does your employer cover weight loss surgery? See a sample list of employers we’ve encountered who offer bariatric benefits!
If you have insurance but not bariatric benefits, and struggle with a condition that requires surgery, such as an abdominal hernia, reflux due to a large hiatal hernia, gallbladder disease or complications with a lap band, this could be an opportunity to use insurance to cover this procedure and allow you to self-pay as low as $4,500 or $122/month to add on a weight loss procedure. Combo surgery allows you to reduce costs, save time and recover more easily!
We have some of the lowest all-inclusive package pricing in Dallas-Fort Worth and are one of the few practices that includes all of your follow up visits, for life! We offer financing through Care Credit with gastric sleeve as low as $10,500 or $284/month. Please contact us to schedule an appointment and see how affordable weight loss surgery can be!
You’ve probably heard a lot about GLP-1 medications like Ozempic® and Wegovy®. They’re popular right now - and for good reason. They can absolutely help people lose weight, but if you’re looking for something that lasts, it’s worth knowing how they really compare to weight loss surgery.
GLP-1s can help you lose weight while you’re taking them. The challenge is what happens after. Once you stop the injections, most people start to regain weight. Weight loss surgery, on the other hand, actually changes how your body processes food — helping you keep the weight off long term. In fact, studies show it’s about five times more effective for maintaining weight loss over time.
GLP-1s aren’t just a short-term commitment. Between prescriptions, refills, and doctor visits, the costs can really add up — sometimes thousands a year, every year. Surgery is different. It’s a one-time investment (around $10,500) that pays off for the rest of your life. No monthly injections. No ongoing prescriptions.
Weight loss surgery isn’t new — it’s been helping people transform their lives for over 30 years. The long-term results and safety are well-documented. GLP-1 medications are still being studied, and there aren’t any long-term (5-year or more) studies yet showing how effective they are after people stop taking them.
| Quick Comparison | Weight Loss Surgery | GLP-1 MEDICATIONS |
|---|---|---|
| RESULTS | Proven to help you lose and keep off more weight long-term. | Weight often returns after stopping. |
| COST | One-time investment | Ongoing monthly expense |
| TRACK RECORD | 30+ years of proven success | New – no long term data yet |
| COMMITMENT | One procedure, lasting change | Lifelong medication |
